Bruut Amsterdam was commissioned by Discovery Channel to develop and produce a weekly show called β€œD TOUR”.

In D TOUR, we follow the young adventurer Bas Jongerius (27) on his bike trip from Amsterdam to China. Bas filmed his entire journey, which took half a year, by using GoPro cameras and drones.

One minor detail: Bas is not much of a cyclist at all. His technical knowledge begins and ends with the bonding of a tire.

Every week, D TOUR allowed the viewer to follow Bas’ incredible adventure with real time episodes/vlogs containing his experiences. During the 12,000 kilometers from Amsterdam to China, Bas has had to overcome various challenges. These challenges included his own physical condition, the areas he traveled through, his equipment, but of course also the mental strain caused by such a long journey.

The result? 350,000 views and thousands of fans who watched the weekly episodes and traveled along with Bas to China. These viewers did not only see the landscape change, but they saw Bas change too.

The series found an extremely engaged audience and various media, including RTL and Qmusic, picked up the series and contacted Bas during his journey.

D TOUR is the first program commissioned by the Discovery Channel that was fully broadcasted online. This is why we are extremely proud that Discovery Channel chose Bruut Amsterdam to make it.
